To Clearchus. (363) But you ought to have received our friend from my own hands; since, however, you were hurrying toward the gates, and he was not present, remember what I have said on his behalf. And do me the honor of showing that my letter was able to accomplish as much as I myself would have, were I introducing the worthy Hyperechius into your friendship with my own right hand.

Κλεάρχῳ. (363) Ἀλλ’ ἔδει μέν σε ἐκ τῶν ἐμῶν χειρῶν δεδέχθαι τὸν ἑταῖ- ρον· ἐπεὶ δὲ σὺ μὲν ἠπείγου πρὸς τὰς πύλας, ὁ δ’ οὐ παρῆν, ἃ μὲν ὑπὲρ αὐτοῦ διείλεγμαι, μέμνησο· τίμησον δέ μοι τὴν ἐπιστολὴν δείξας ὡς ἠδυνήθη τοσοῦτον ὅσον ἂν ἐγὼ τὸν χρηστὸν Ὑπερέχιον εἰς τὴν σὴν φιλίαν εἰσάγων τῇ δεξιᾷ.
