That they should work upon the emperor and his consort, so that all the churches, but especially those of Alexandria and Antioch, may be recalled to the communion of the apostolic see. Hormisdas to the bishops Germanus and John, to the deacons Felix and Dioscorus, and to the presbyter Blandus. Concerning those matters which the report of your charity has set forth, we render thanks to our God, who has deigned to assist your labor; and we exhort you that you ought to press upon the most clement prince and his most pious consort the Augusta with fitting attentions, and to act, with the help of our Christ, in all things established under ecclesiastical observance, so that all the churches, which are set in whatsoever part of the world, may be recalled to the communion of the apostolic see. And as for the churches of Alexandria and Antioch, labor that they may be joined to our faith under a reasonable observance, since the accomplishment of so great a matter wins for so most clement a prince, as well as for you, the grace of the divine favor.
