Letter 3020: Ad Felicem episcopum Biturigum, scriptum in turrem eius

20. To Felix, bishop of Bourges, written upon his tower. How fittingly do these joined things adorn it, that golden gifts may bear the mighty pearl of the consecrated body of the Lamb! Let the vessels of Solomon yield to these chrysolite metals: this work, and faith, make it the more pleasing. May these offerings of Felix that are given to you, O Christ, be such as the shepherd Abel then bestowed from his flock, and whose hearts you see, may you reckon equal in piety to the merit of her who gave the two coins.

XX Ad Felicem episcopum Biturigum, scriptum in turrem eius Quam bene iuncta decent, sacrati ut corporis agni margaritum ingens aurea dona ferant! cedant chrysolitis Salomonia vasa metallis: ista placere magis ars facit atque fides. quae data, Christe, tibi Felicis munera sic sint, qualia tunc tribuit de grege pastor Abel, et cuius tu corda vides, pietate coaeques siraptae merito quae dedit aera duo.
