As long as these matters are tossed about by rumors, they are put off for a time; be at leisure, free of cares. If a more recent report brings anything worthy of trust and grounded in reliability, I will refrain neither from the duty of announcing it nor from that of advising. Take this one thing from my counsel before the necessity of the affair presses: that by no means can you decline the honor of the summons. But concerning your brother we have as yet received nothing beyond the commission, nothing even of opinion. As for myself, I have committed these matters concerning the Ostian wedding to this page, to which the younger son of the most illustrious gentleman Sallustius has summoned us; but Rome must immediately be sought again on account of the preparation of the games.
