Pelagius to Agnellus, bishop of Ravenna. We enjoin upon your Fraternity that you choose such a man for the office of presbyter as may be steadfast in religion, good in his ways, and effective in standing firm against adversaries, and that you direct him to the aforesaid holy man, the glorious patrician John, charging him above all else that, among the sacred mysteries, he name no other name except mine and yours.
